Improvements

Since I have finished my last picture, I started to look for a new references. During that process I found some great sketches, which influenced my future actions.

Those images belong to Meghan Hetrick, great comic artist.
Those multi-line sketches reminded me of my life drawing pieces of work. At the same time I thought of using that style for planning my next pictures.  I had few ideas in my mind but I needed another references of the ship. Keeping in mind principles that I’ve learnt during working on a previous image, I wanted to make my scenes more dynamic. It was my task to find some interesting camera angles.

These are the pictures, found in internet, which helped me in establishing perspective for my sketches.

Those are my own reference pictures, taken in Midlands Air Museum. I knew they will be useful one day. I can use the angle of the deck and transform the plane into a sailing ship.

I was also using my brother's collection of pictures, taken  during his cruise on a sailing ship.

Here are my sketches, improved thanks to above research.  I’ll talk more about their creation process while presenting the whole image development. Just look at the further part of the blog.
